first task professional are currently recruiting for a freelance quantity surveyor in the east of scotland to work on a high value commercial fit out and refurbishment projects.

this role will be primarily office based with occasional visits to site, with some flexibility to work from home as required. the desired candidate should have prior experience working in the fit out and refurbishment sector and be confident in managing variations on the project as part of design and scope changes.

there is a start available early march with work for at least 12 weeks.

this role can be worked ltd/cis or paye

Site Engineer / Setting-out Engineer

gortmore are working for a leading contractor who are looking for a site engineer’s on a civil’s project in the edinburgh area.

the candidate must:

  * have previous experience working on civils projects on drainage, groundworks, rc works, etc.

  * must have excellent knowledge of, laser levels, total stations and gps’s.

  * monitoring, manage, distribute project information to site team and ensure accurate setting out and dimensional control is being carried out.

  * ensure the works are constructed to latest design and agreed specification.

  * ensure project qa is being carried out and site diary is maintained.

  * must be competent in auto cad, reading drawings and quantifying materials.

  * carry out itp’s, kpi’s, rfi’s, etc.

  * have excellent communication skills and in distributing project information to work colleagues.

  * have excellent problem-solving capabilities and be able to raise any potential issues
