Please be aware apprenticeship provider is based in Darlington where successful candidates will be required to attend in block release throughout the year. Referrals from planning authority prioritised and closing date could shift. 

Apprenticeship likely to be at Level 2.A Thermal Insulation Engineering apprenticeship teaches you to install, maintain, and repair specialized insulation materials on pipes, boilers, ducts, and machinery in commercial or industrial settings to control temperatures and conserve energy. They prevent heat loss/gain, protect personnel from hot/cold surfaces, and improve efficiency by fitting materials like mineral wool or foam and applying protective cladding.

Rate: Depends On Experience *NMW / *NLW / *LLW

Key Responsibilities and Tasks;
- Installing insulation on pipework, vessels, tanks, and HVAC ductwork using clips, adhesive, wire bands, or spray equipment.
- Material Fabrication: Measuring, cutting, and shaping insulation materials (e.g., foam, mineral wool, fiberglass) to fit complex shapes like joints, T-pieces, and valve boxes.
- Cladding and Protection: Covering insulation with sheet metal cladding to protect it from weather and mechanical damage.
- Site Preparation and Safety: Cleaning surfaces for installation, removing old insulation, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations, sometimes involving hazardous material (like asbestos) removal.
- Works are predominately in the London, however, works to intend all over the UK and into Europe.

English and Maths GCSEs are beneficial, but not essential as additional training is given
